Level of Effort: 40 days (part time, including some remote work)


Development Innovations (DI) is a six-year USAID-funded project that helps civil society organizations, technology companies, social enterprises and young innovators to design and use information and communications technology (ICT) solutions and employ innovative processes to tackle Cambodia’s development challenges.


Development Innovations is seeking a part-time Communications Specialist & Editor to develop communications content, edit products created by the DI communications team and support with the drafting and editing of final communications products. Additional responsibilities include occasional support with content development and refinement for public-facing documents created by DI’s communications team to ensure that all material is suitable for external audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities (days):

  • Work with Program Managers (and Communications or M&E Team when relevant) to develop content, stories of change, success stories and learning documents
  • Draft DI’s Final Report, in close coordination with the Chief of Party and Senior Managers
  • Meet with Program Managers and Senior Management Team to identify project activities that can be highlighted as success stories
  • Write and copy edit program reports, program success stories, snapshots, blog posts, press releases, and other written communications material
  • Conduct interviews with project partners as relevant to gather quotes and inform communications products
  • Coach communications team members to be able to ideate, craft and produce compelling stories of change

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience, preferably working overseas on donor-funded projects
  • Experience in editing and/or report writing
  • Native English writing and speaking abilities
  • Background in public relations, journalism, communications and/or digital media preferred
  • Background with USAID communications preferred


This position reports to the Chief of Party.
